La Mer Review – Lip Balm, The Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA+++ UV Protecting Fluid, The Reparative Skin Tint, The Hand Treatment, The Soleil de La Mer The Glowing Body Oil and The Body Crème

Hello dearies!

This is my final post of La Mersssssssss!!!

These remaining products are worthy of mentioning because I love these so much and I’ve repurchase them over and over again from the beginning of my journey with La Mer.

Let’s begin with the Sun products that I love:

(Left) is the Reparative Skintint SPF 30 (SGD180 for 40ml) in the color 01- very fair. It comes in 4 or 5 shades. I use this on days where I want sun protection yet natural coverage. Sometimes I’ll top it off with loose powder and then run out the door.

This is how it looks:

Beautiful glowy finish. 😍 What I love most about the Skintint is that after washing it off, my skin feels extremely soft & smooth. I’ve never had a “foundation” or tinted moisturizer that makes my skin feel this nice after removal. I’ve heard rumors that this might be discontinued! So please run to the counters to get your shade match and grab one as soon as you can. La Mer, please don’t discontinue this one, I’ll be very sad! 😪

Next on the right is the The Broad Spectrum SPF 50 UV Protecting Fluid PA+++ (SGD190 for 50ml). This is the best sunblock I’ve ever used! It’s in liquid form but yet not super runny and not thick like some that you have to blend out. There’s a slight greenish color in the formula and somehow that helps to reduce the appearance of redness on my skin and made it look even. It’s not oily and has not given me any breakouts (using it for over 10+ years now). It’s so easy to spread and does not leave a white cast. Highly recommend giving this a try if you are looking for a sunblock that performs!

My next favorite is the Lip Balm (SGD120 for 9g).

I’m a Lip Balm junkie and this topped the list for sure. It’s so soft and melts into your lips immediately upon application. Just so good! Its not tacky at all and your lips stays comfortable. It has a minty scent and your lips can feel the slight mint upon application which goes away in abit. I love love love this! Nothing in the market can beat it 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 The usual one is this:

And they had a limited edition one with a light reddish tint:

I grabbed 3 pots of these just to keep as spares. 😬😬😬

Next favorites are the Hand Treatment (SGD185 for 100ml) and the Body Crème (SGD530 for 300ml. Their prices kept increasing 😑:

These are phenomenal!

I stock up on the hand treatment as I put one in my handbag when I’m out and leave one near my bed. It keeps my hands soft, hydrated and smooth. I’ve tried many other hand creams too but this is the winner 🏆🏆🏆

As for the body crème, I’ve seen others commented that they want to put this on their face and that’s how good it is. I don’t use this everyday because one application keeps my skin moisturized for a couple of days in humid conditions. This is a life savior when I travel to dry climates. You have to try it! 😜

Last on my list is the Glowing Body Oil (SGD155 for 95ml):

This is housed in a glass bottle and the shimmers are just so pretty! 😍 I think this is also a limited edition piece so grab it if you find one! Although this is a body oil, it does not feel oily or tacky at all. It absorbs well and leaves behind the shimmery sheen. If shimmers are your thing then you gotta have it! I’m saving it only for special occasions 😊

I hope you like my sharing on all my La Mer products. Next, I plan to share my thoughts on cosmetics and skincare from La Prairie and Chanel which I will write-up as soon as I can!

Stay tune!

Cheers

La Mer Moisturizers Reviews – Crème de La Mer, The Moisturizing Soft Cream, The Moisturizing Cool Gel Cream, The Moisturizing Soft Lotion and The Moisturizing Matte Lotion

Hello dearies!

Today I wanna talk about the moisturizers from La Mer. If I am allow to only buy ONE product from La Mer, it would be the moisturizer. 😍

They have 5 types in total, 3 creams and 2 lotions. They all are suppose to do the same job – moisturizing. The creams comes in a porcelain jar and the lotions comes in a bottle form. I’ve tried all 5 types and I will go through the price list and also at the same time explain the differences in their textures and make my own recommendation as to what skin or climate conditions is best suited for each one. Sorry I only have the photo for Crème de La Mer as I did not repurchase the rest but I’ll share the photo of all 4 others for your comparison on their textures/consistencies towards the end of the post from samples that I have.

1. The Crème de La Mer (SGD300 for 30ml & SGD510 for 60ml & it also has a 100ml jar which I forgot the price):

This baby has the thickest consistency amongst all and is my all time favorite! 😍😍😍 To use this, you have to use the spatula provided to scope a pea size amount and then put it between your fingers and give it a good rub to warm it up until it becomes a clear consistency before you pat it into you skin. (The SA will be happy to show you how to do this at the counters).

It gives me very dewy looking skin and definitely very emollient and does a great job in its moisturizing properties. It’s comfortable for me in Singapore’s humid weather but it’s a little tacky (that some people may not be able to accept) and it’s performance is superb if you are in a dry and cold climate. My skin never gets patchy or dryness wherever I traveled with this. It never fails me 🏆🏆🏆 I would recommend this for drier skin or people who do not mind a slight tack to the finish if you live in a humid country and I highly recommend this for dry colder climates regardless of skin types but maybe not so suited for super oily skin.

2. The Moisturixing Soft Cream (SGD300 for 30ml & SGD510 for 60ml) This one has a softer texture than the Crème de La Mer and you do not need to warm it up as much as the Crème formula. It goes on easily and gives you a velvety finish. When La Mer first launched this, they sent a full size jar for my sampling. I finished it much faster than if I were to use the Crème. I do like it but I felt I needed a larger amount to moisturize my face to let it feel the same moisturizing effect that the Crème did. However, this does not feel tacky after its being absorbed, so for those who do not like tackiness, this is the one. Probably a good choice for combination/normal skin types.

3. The Moisturizing Cool Gel Cream (SGD300 for 30ml, SGD510 for 60ml). This is relatively new and when this was launched a few months ago, La Mer invited me to the tea party. I tried it there on my hand and it felt cooling and silky. It was a gel like texture. I was presented with some samples and I went home to try it on my face. Upon application, my skin felt cool and soothing. Not the super minty/cooling type but slight coolness. Maybe it’s even better if I had left it in the fridge before use. This one works ok but what I didn’t like is that it left a filmy layer on top of my skin. When I splashed water onto my face before washing, I could feel a coat of moisturizer there that felt slippery. Either it’s not compatible with my skin or it did not get absorbed well enough. Suggest you get a sample if you want to try it. Could be an option for oily/combination skin.

4. The Moisturizing Soft Lotion (SGD450 for 50ml) one size. This feels and behaves the same like the soft cream thus I also tend to use more product. This is good for travel as it’s in a bottle with a pump packaging and it’s more hygienic if you were to compare those in the jar and products will not be exposed to the air. I use this from time to time especially when I need to put on a heavier foundation for some events. This feels lighter than the Crème. The SA is always so kind to drop this into my sample box whenever I purchase the full sized Crème. I would recommend this as a day moisturizer for combination/normal skin and more suited for use in a humid climate.

5. The Moisturizing Matt Lotion (SGD450 for 50ml). This is housed in the same bottle like the Soft Lotion except that it’s matte on the outside. The texture is somehow similar to the Soft Lotion but slightly lighter finish. It’s really quite mattifying and works well on my oilier T zone. On days when it’s really humid, I will put this on my T zone. (The SA also threw in samples for me). I would definitely recommend this for oily skin types. You will like this 😊

This is how the textures/consistencies looks like when put together:

Top to bottom – Crème, Soft Cream, Gel Cream, Soft Lotion, Matte Lotion.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this and have a better understanding of La Mer’s offerings of their moisturizers.

Cheers

La Mer Specialists and Masks Reviews – The Perfecting Treatment, The Replenishing Oil Exfoliator, The Intensive Vitalizing Mask and The Brilliance Brightening Mask

Hello love!

Welcome to the near final of La Mer’s face products. I will share what I love about their specialist and masks that I will never want to run out off.

First I want to talk about the Perfecting Treatment (SGD400):

This is a 50ml weighted glass jar. This product has a light diffusing technology that blurs pores and imperfections. Over time, it’s suppose to improve your skin texture, tone and translucency. You can use this two ways, the first is to use it before the moisturizer. This gives me a velvety and smooth texture. The second way is to use this after the moisturizer. If I’m wearing make up after this, I would prefer to use my own primers for my foundation application. Otherwise both ways works fine for me. I’m into my fourth jar and I can say that this has helped me achieve an evenness in my skin tone. The gel formula has a tinge of pink in it so that could be the reason why it also makes my skin look more radiant when I apply it. I will continue to use this as I love the velvety finish on my skin ☺️ If you are having some skin tone concerns, go give this a try 😊 a little goes a long way…

Before you put on any masks, it’s advisable to clean your face and do an exfoliation so that your new skin can absorb all the goodness when you are masking. This is the The Replenishing Oil Exfoliator (SGD200) on the right:

It is the replacement product for The Refining Facial (left). I want to quickly talk about the Refining Facial first. It contains diamond powder that helps to polish the skin and it has a thick consistency like mud. This works very beautifully when you scrub your face with it and definitely reveal a smoother texture after that. When La Mer decided to discontinue this, I nearly died 😵

When they launched the replacement, The Replenishing Oil Exfoliator, I grabbed it instantly hoping it’s an even better formula. When I first try it, it’s very different. This one contains sugar-liked beads and when you squeeze it out from the tube, it’s quite runny but I knew that was the Replenishing Oil that sort of ooze out. To my surprise, this guy does a great job and even better than its predecessor even though the formula is totally different. My skin was soft and it’s not drying. The sugar beads melts into your face and it does not feel too grainy. It’s a good scrub! It does what it claims and it does not strip the skin of its own moisturizing properties. Good job La Mer 🏆🏆🏆

Next are the two masks that I made purchases repeatedly:

On the left is The Intensive Vitalizing Mask (SGD300). The bottle soothing primer in the middle is step 1 and on the right is the gel cream with the brush is step 2 of the Brilliance Brightening Mask (SGD450).

I use the intensive Vitalizing mask once or twice a week during my evening routine. It’s a cream mask that reenergizes, plumps and protects, instantly infusing skin with vibrancy as it claims. It’s very easy to use, just spread it on & leave it for 8 minutes to work. After 8 minutes, you can either tissue off any excess or massage the remaining cream into the skin. I prefer to tissue off the excess and follow with my moisturizer. This mask seems to calm and rehydrate my skin. In the morning my skin looks plump and radiant. It’s a mask worth trying 🙃

As for the brilliance brightening mask, I would use it once a week with its full range i.e. toner & infusion (mentioned in earlier posts). You start this 2 step leave-on mask by massaging the soothing primer into the face then use the brush to sweep the gel cream using upwards strokes into the face. Let it work it’s magic for 8 minutes and then I’ll massage it into the skin. You can almost immediately see that your skin is glowy and vibrant. I really really really love this! Who doesn’t want glowy skin? It’s a must try! 🏆🏆🏆

La Mer has a similar leave-on mask called the Lifting and Firming Mask but I feel I did not need it 🤭 yet…

They also had a couple of sheet masks like the Hydrating Facial and the Brilliance Brightening Facial. These were sold for SGD480 each for a box of 6 sheets. It was good but a little too expensive for each use costs SGD80; I rather go for a facial instead. In Singapore, these two sheet masks have been discontinued. They have just launched a new Treatment Lotion Mask which I’m not trying due to my reaction to their Treatment Lotion. This is the replacement for the Hydrating Facial but this time it cost only SGD230 for 6 sheets. As for the Brilliance Brightening Facial, it is replaced by the Brilliance Brightening Mask which is slightly cheaper and you definitely get more than 6 uses from the set.

Thanks for hearing us La Mer, we love your masks but please price them more reasonably like now 😬 so that we can use them more frequently!

Thats all I have on Masks now…I’ll be posting on the Crème de La Mer in my next post so watch out for it!

Cheers

La Mer Eye Treatments Reviews – The Illuminating Eye Gel, The Eye Concentrate, The Genaissance de La Mer The Eye and Expression Cream, The Eye Balm Intense and The Lifting Eye Serum

Hello dearies!!!!

Our peepers are so important and the skin around them are so delicate. We get lines, crows’ feet, dark circles, eye bags and what not 🙄 don’t fret, you may find something helpful here….

I’ve tried all La Mer’s eye treatments and I’ve also chosen to repurchase only some. I’ll start with the price list (accurate at this point):

1. The Illuminating Eye Gel SGD230

2. The Eye Concentrate SGD330

3. The Genaissance de La Mer The Eye and Expression Cream SGD600

4. The Eye Balm Intense SGD330

5. The Lifting Eye Serum SGD390

All of them contains 15ml of product.

I’m currently using the following:

The Illuminating Eye Gel provides some radiance upon application. I think this is ok for eyes that has no major concerns. It does not really do much else for mine except that it helps my concealer stay on smoothly. I’ll pass on this the next round. 🤔

The Eye Concentrate is my favorite among them. It’s meant to reduce dark circles and it works ok for me. It goes on smooth and absorbs well. It comes with this applicator with a silver tip that feels cool upon touching the skin around the eyes:

I’ve gone through many jars of these and I have plenty of these applicator that I use for my other eye creams. I’ll usually dab the eye cream around my eyes then swirl it in circular motion both at the same time with each hand holding one applicator on each side. It feels so spa like! And because of the cool tips, it helps to de-puff my eyes as well. This is the technique I learnt when I had my facial done at La Mer. 🤓 I’ve used this Eye Concentrate for over 10 years now so I don’t think I’m getting any further improvements but it’s doing a great job at maintaining its current state. Do give it a try 😛

The Genaissance de La Mer The Eye and Expression Cream is the all in one eye cream where it’s suppose to help address dark circles, puffiness and fine lines. The texture is heavier than the Eye Concentrate and is housed in a very heavy jar. There’s a very fancy applicator housed magnetically at the lid:

You are suppose to sweep the tool around the brow, then under the eye, repeat 3 times then move the tool in small circles along the brow, then under the eye, repeat 3 times then gently stretch and sweep up and down in short strokes away from the eye. Viola! This is really an all rounder and the skin area around my eyes did feel and look more lifted. I’ll continue to use this 😍

The Eye Balm Intense was purchased long time ago when I first started. It’s mainly meant to de-puff eye bags. I completed one full jar but felt no difference and I find that you need a larger amount to be able to use it with the applicator to move it in circles as compared to the Eye Concentrate. (Eye Balm Intense comes with the same applicator as the Eye Concentrate, the only difference is that the handle is white in color). I very much prefer the Eye Concentrate 😍

Last but not least is the Lifting Eye Serum. I was given a sample of this and upon first application, my eyes swelled and I was tearing. I had developed an allergy reaction from it. I never gave it a second try so I cannot give you my user experience on this item. Please please please, I can’t repeat enough – go sampling before any purchases ok!

Cheers

La Mer Serums Reviews – The Renewal Oil, The Revitalizing Hydrating Serum, The Lifting Contour Serum, The Concentrate, The Regenerating Serum, The Genaissance de La Mer The Serum Essence and The Brilliance Brightening Serum

Hello dearies!!!

It’s serum time! I love serums as these gives you the fastest results because most formulas contains a higher concentration of specific targeted treatment than it’s other products within the same brand. Serums comes in a wide variety to address specific concerns i.e wrinkle prevention, increase hydration, whitening etc.

As a La Mer fanatic, I’ve tried all their serums and I will discuss a little on those that I’m using and those that I did not repurchase. Let me start with the price list:

1. The Renewal Oil SGD400 for 30ml

2. The Revitalizing Hydrating Serum SGD350 for 30ml

3. The Lifting Contour Serum SGD540 for 30ml

4. The Concentrate SGD770 for 50ml

5. The Regenerating Serum SGD540 for 30ml

6. The Genaissance de La Mer The Serum Essence SGD980 for 30ml

7. The Brilliance Brightening Serum SGD540 for 30ml

I’m currently using the following:

The Renewal Oil is absolutely one of my favorite because it’s a multi-purpose oil. This is my winner when I travel to a colder and drier climate. I add a couple drops to my moisturizer and put it on my face to soothe any dryness. If you skin is really dry, you can put on the oil first then add a layer of moisturizer on top to seal it in. I also use this as a cuticle oil because it works much better than any of my other cuticle oils which are specifically for that but still this one wins. I also add this into my body cream/lotion and hand cream for that extra boost of silkiness. I will also use it for my hair ends as a leave-on and run my fingers through my hair to tame those fly-aways. I can even skip perfume because my whole body from head to toe is smelling divine now. 🤗 Isn’t this a great product? 🏆🏆🏆 A little goes a long way with this…

The Revitalizing Hydrating Serum is my other favorite and I keep repurchasing this. It’s really very hydrating and not overly rich. The basic for good skin is to keep it hydrated as much as possible. When skin is hydrated, it will look and feel plump and it will be ready to better absorb other products after that. I’ve tried some other brands on hydrating serums and they never came close to this one. Trust me you will love this one. I also use this as my first serum before I apply other serums on top of it i.e. a whitening serum after that seems to work better. Go try it for yourself and see if it makes any difference. 😊

The Lifting Contour Serum was a deluxe sample given by the SA. They raved about how immediately you can see your face lifted after it’s application. I didn’t really like this so will not purchase the full size. It kinda left a filmy coating on my face and that’s not good for makeup. My Refa face rollers does a better job for lifting 😝

The Concentrate is my HG for pimple marks!!!! I use this on my just extracted pimple and the redness will go away after a couple of days. I tried not using this and it takes me weeks to get rid of the mark 😞 yes as we age our metabolism dips so skin renewal is not as speedy as before. I also use this on days when I develop some redness around my nose and chin areas and it works perfectly. The Concentrate is not something that I use daily. It’s more for specific concerns. The texture is very silky and you have to massage into the skin for a couple of mins then you add the moisturizer on top to seal the goodness in. It’s a little expensive but one bottle of 50ml lasts me a good one year! The bottle in the picture above is a 15ml so do not be mistaken for it’s size. I got this as part of a set previously. Something that La Mer should work on is the packaging. The paddle applicator inside does not allow you to reach the product towards the bottom of the bottle when you are about to finish. They do give you a longer applicator but it’s such a hassle to have to clean the applicator each time after use. It looks like this:

Next up is The Regenerating Serum which is La Mer’s pioneer serum in the range. I started on one long time ago and it gave me some tiny bumps the next day. I think the formula could be too rich for my skin or I could be allergic to some ingredients inside or back then my skin didn’t needed that much nourishment. I will go back to get a sample and give this another shot sometime. This is suppose to be one of their best sellers and targets towards diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. If this is your concern, do get a sample to see if you like it.

The Genaissance de La Mer The Serum Essence is the most expensive of them all. This is suppose to rejuvenate your skin, accelerating visible renewals for lines and imperfections. Doesn’t this sound like a dream potion??? Oh wells, this one gave me red bumps and took me awhile to heal 😫😫😫 I’m not sure what went wrong! The SA told me that I’m the second person she knows who had this reaction 🤔 please please please ask for samples or at least try it at the counters before you purchase. It’s $980!!!!! I gave it to my mum and she’s ok with it. But when she used it to almost completion, the dropper design did not work very well to pick up the remaining products inside. The glass bottle was also very heavy and with a bottom heavy design, it was hard to overturn the bottle to get the rest of the product. Probably some 5ml wastage there???? Oh please re-design the bottle. It’s a $980 product! 😵

Last on the list is the Brilliance Brightening Serum which I’ve finished up a bottle but did not repurchase as I did not see a big difference in its whitening. Probably more even skin tone but I won’t pay $540 just for that alone. I would recommend the mask and I will talk more about that in my later posts….

Stay tune for more La Mer Skincare!

Cheers

La Mer (Pre-serums) Reviews – Treatment Lotion; Genaissance The Infused Lotion and The Brilliance White Infusion

Hello dearies!!!!

Pre-serums aka watery lotions aka essences are relatively popular and introduced into the skin care routine as a step after the toner and before serum to help whatever applied on top of it to be absorbed better.

I am currently using the Treatment Lotion (SGD 220), The Brilliance White Infusion (SGD 220) and Genaissance The Infused Lotion (SGD 400):

The Treatment Lotion is the most watery of the lot. It has a slight tackiness to it when you pat it onto your face. However this gets absorbed quite fast and after it dries down, it’s not tacky. During my first few experience when I applied this, my skin felt a little tingle and some redness surfaced after that. I went back to the SA and she told me that it was due to the fact that my skin was dehydrated, thus it is normal to have this reaction. She encouraged me to keep using for a week to see if that goes away. I was brave enough to continue using and slowly it went away. So I do think that my skin was really dehydrated. As I have many other lotions, I do switch my products around. From time to time when I switched back to this lotion, I do experience the tingle sensation but it goes away after a few uses. Not sure if it’s a good thing though or is it just my skin that needed time to re-adjust 🤔 still wondering… If you do plan to pick this up, I suggest getting some samples from the counter and try it a few times before buying.

The Brilliance White Infusion is part of the whitening range and I use this about twice a week with the mask. In my earlier post, I talked about the toner in the same series so I will use them both one after the other. This infusion is also quite watery but this one smells like their whitening series and feels cool on the skin. A good alternative to the Treatment Lotion.

The Genaissance Infused Lotion is the most expensive in the lot as it’s La Mer’s most expensive range. I like this milky lotion when my skin is dry. It’s ultra comfortable, absorbs fast and I swear your skin feels so soft just after the lotion is pat on! It’s so velvety smooth! Brilliant! I love this the most and it smells so lux as though you are getting a spa! Another winner here 🏆 love love love 😍😍😍

I am not able to determine if these pre-serums were effective to allow better absorption of other products applied on top of it but I really do enjoy the Genaissance. You can probably skip the serum after this if you have oilier skin type because I feel that it’s quite nourishing in an instant. 😊

La Mer Toners Reviews: The Tonic; The Oil Absorbing Tonic; The Brilliance White Lotion; The Mist

Hello dearies!!!

It’s toner time!

I’m currently using the Tonic (SGD 180), the Oil Absorbing Tonic (SGD 180) as well as the Brilliance White Lotion (SGD 200):

The Tonic (left) is my favorite toner as it is alcohol free. It’s very gentle and I do not really smell any fragrance. It’s very soothing and comforting. I pour it onto a cotton pad and gently wipe it across my face. It does not irritate my sensitive skin at all. I use this day and night after cleansing. Good job La Mer! 👏👏👏

The Oil Absorbing Tonic (center) contains alcohol and is meant for oilier skin types. I use this mainly on my T zone and also at times when I do my own home mini extraction (aka pooping zits), I will soak up a cotton pad with this and press it against the zit. Alcohol has astringent properties so this helps to close up the opened pore. When I dab this on my newly formed zit, it helps to shrink it and bring it down within a couple of days. I won’t use it full face as it’s quite stripping so word of caution for all skin types except oily. Good for oily skin 👍🏻

The Brilliance White Lotion is part of the Brilliance whitening range. I bought the full range so I only use this once or twice a week when I put on their whitening mask which I will talk about in another later post. This lotion smells pretty nice and feels a little moisturizing. But I can’t be sure on the whitening part because I use the full range and not just by itself. Guess The Tonic can replace this instead 🙃

Next is The Mist (SGD 145):

I’ve replenished this countless times!!! The SA told me a long long time ago that I can use this as a toner but I prefer to use this to prime & prep my face before and then set my makeup. I carry this along wherever I go to refresh my skin. The mist is very fine and the smell of roses is simply divine! I love this! It’s the best mist out there 😍😍 Go to the counter and spray some 😝

Stay calm and smell the roses 🌷🌹🌷

La Mer Cleansers Reviews – Micellar Water; Cleansing Oil; Cleansing Gel; Cleansing Lotion; Cleansing Foam

Hello dearies!

I’m currently using the Cleansing Oil & Cleansing Gel:

My thoughts….

The Micellar Water on the left were deluxe samples given by the SA. It’s slightly bluish in color and does not have a strong fragrance to it. It works like your other Micellar water and does a nice job of removing light makeup. If you are using mascara and lippies, it’s advisable to use a separate eye/lip makeup remover for a more through job. This does not sting nor dries the skin. There are other Micellar water out there that does the same job. I do like it but I rather use the Cleansing Oil/Lotion for a quicker remover. This is my individual preference.

As for the Cleansing Oil, can you see that it has a beautiful glittery look in the bottle in the middle? So unicorn! 🦄 It’s just so beautiful to have at your sink. I use about 4 pumps to remove a full face makeup (but light). You are suppose to massage this onto dry skin then use a little water to emulsify. It then turns into a milky liquid then you rinse off. What I do not like about this is that it stings the eyes and I can feel as though there is a residual film of oil. I double cleanse with the Cleansing Gel each time. Probably more suited for drier skin days. Oh and the smell is pretty awful (smells like plastic). I probably will not repurchase again 😞

I do not have the Cleansing Lotion pic because I’ve used up mine and decided not to repurchase. It works pretty much the same as the Cleansing oil where you smear the lotion onto your face and give it a good massage then you wipe it off with some cotton pads. This formula works great in dry cold climate as I brought this to my holidays to drier climates and it’s great especially in the morning when you feel that your skin is so dry. It’s a no-rinse required formula. This is quite moisturizing and not stripping. But I think it does not remove makeup completely enough. Better on morning dry taut skin.

I have also tried their Cleansing Foam (also no pic). It’s a green paste when squeezed from the tube and it foams up very easily. I do like this on warmer & oilier days but don’t really work on other days because my skin will feel tight after washing. But my mum loves it and I’ve always replenished this for her.

As for the Cleansing Gel, this is my winner and favorite of the lot. It works for me day and night, oily, dry, sensitive or combo. I use this religiously with my Foreo and I love it lots! It removes light makeup so it’s perfect for me 😍 it smells pleasant and foams up easily. I use only 1 to 2 pumps max and one bottle lasts me about 3-4 months. I’ve tried other cleanser from some other luxury brand but my skin did not like them as much as the Cleansing Gel. I will name this my HG cleanser🏆

All cleaners are SGD 190 each 😑 so please try to ask for samples at the counters before you decide which is right for you if you ever decide to get their cleansers.

Cheers

La Mer Skincare Collection Reviews Prelude

Hello dearies!!!!

So where do I go from here?

I have almost the full collection from La Mer!

So what is it about La Mer?

You can find the story here: https://m.cremedelamer.com/brand-story It’s the Miracle Broth!

I got curious when they first came into Singapore in the early 2000s (in my memory) with their first counter at Tangs and there were some tabloid news that a famous 80s pop diva was using it. And it immediately caught my attention because she is my idol!!! I went to the counter and I got myself the Eye Balm and a small sample of the renown Creme de La Mer. I never looked back since then.

I was hooked and amazed by the results of using it religiously for years. I’m in my late 30s but my skin probably is like a minus 10 years. I do not have much lines, I do not have crows feet nor do I have saggy skin. I do have some light dark circles but not something that can be helped because we use our phones, computers etc and all these rays are hitting us slowly…plus Singapore is also nicknamed as the “Sunny Island” (uv rays in excess can be bad for skin) and we all know we can use sunblock on our skin but we can only wear that much sunnies to protect our eyes. 😎

Ok lets start off by getting a quick snapshot of my skin first:

Combination – dry/normal/oily/sensitive. Why do I have so many combos? (It’s complicated) 😑 Well, being a woman, that’s the reason why – we have our periods to deal with! Due to hormonal changes, my skin changes with it. About 7 to 10 days before my period, my skin will start to get sensitive and redness especially around my nose and chin areas with an occasional zit popping up. During my period, my skin will become easily irritated and flares up easily – super sensitive. After my period, my skin will be normal with oily T zone or dry with oily T zone depending on the climate that I’m in or how well hydrated I am on that day. This is the reason why I use so many products but I do not use all at one go. Being a La Mer fanatic user for over a decade, I’ve learnt which product works for me and I’ll mix and match according to my skin condition everyday.

I’m a true believer that good skin starts from good habits and skincare. Luxury skincare is my kind of thing but this does not mean that luxury is the only way to go. More importantly, if it works for you that’s something worth investing. I enjoy using skincare and I treat it as a de-stressing technique twice everyday as part of my pampering routine. I hope you can start your own journey of finding your favorite skincare routine and I wish you a beautiful lovely skin ahead. 😘

I will be categorizing these La Mer products by cleansers, toners, essences, serums, eye creams, moisturizers, masks and specialists so stay tune!

Cheers

La Mer Cosmetics, Swatches and Reviews (Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation; Luminous Lifting Cushion Foundation; Loose Powder; Sheer Pressed Powder; Foundation Brush; Powder Brush; Concealer; Cheek Tint; Bronzer)

Hello dearies!!!!

It’s La Mer time!!!!!!! This is one of my HG brand from the skincare category. I have used their products for over 10 years now and I’ll be sharing my thoughts on their cosmetics line.

Here we have the following products:

1. Foundation Brush (SGD 120)

2. Soft Fluid Foundation – 03 Creme (SGD 190) 21 Shades but I think SG does not carry all shades.

3. Cheek Tint in Coral and Pink Sands (SGD 105 each)

4. Luminous Lifting Cushion Foundation – 12 Neutral Ivory (SGD 160) 12 or 15 Shades (I’m not very sure 😬)

5. Sheer Pressed Powder – Translucent (SGD140) 4 Shades

6. Concealer – Medium (SGD 120) 4 Shades

7. Bronzer (SGD 135)

8. Powder Brush (SGD 150)

9. Loose Powder (SGD 170) – only one shade

First we look at the Foundation Brush:

This is made of synthetic hair and La Mer advocates this with the soft fluid foundation as they were launched at the same time. I used it with this foundation and a few other liquid foundations that I own and it gives a natural coverage. What I like is that it is easy to reach areas around the nose and inner corners of the eyes as it’s tapered at the tip but roundish and not overly pointy. It does not prick the skin like some other synthetic hair brush does. However, you do need to use it with a light hand because if you press too hard, it does makes your foundation slightly streaky. I prefer to use this with their cushion foundation as it has a higher coverage and not the liquid one as it has a thinner consistency. The brush somehow seems to thin out the coverage till a very sheer finishing. It’s not quite friendly to build coverage with this brush either. I’ll recommend some other foundation brush in the near future when I share my collection of brushes. 😜

Next we have the Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation:

I believe you can tell how “fluid” this is with just half a pump on my wrist. Creme (03) is the lightest shade for warm undertone. They have 21 Shades in total from the official site (https://m.cremedelamer.com/product/5817/40984/skincolor/the-soft-fluid-long-wear-foundation-broad-spectrum-spf-20/face-foundation-makeup#/shade/03_Creme) I’m sharing the US site as the SG site does not have enough info. Please do go to the La Mer counters to have your shade match as they might not have all 21 shades. This foundation feels very comfortable on the face and provides a very sheer natural coverage. There is a fragrance to it upon application but that would fade off after a couple of hours of wearing. As for it’s claim on being long wear, this does not work well on me as I have combination oily T zone and SG weather is humid most of the time. This wears off quite quickly around the T zone area say after about 3 hours where it starts to slide off. I tried it with a few primers and it still starts to slide off around my T zone area within 4 hours max. I think it would work better on dry skin in my opinion and do note that this oxidizes just a slight tinge at the end of the day. 😶

Next we have the Cheek Tints in Coral & Pink Sands:

These were limited editions and they may have sold out by the time you read this so I will not say too much. These tints can be used on the lips as per advised by the SA (sales associate). It feels soft and taste minty when applied on the lips with super sheer color. When on the cheeks, it looks very natural but somehow feels tacky. Maybe you did not miss much even if you are not able to get these now. 😖

Next is the Luminous Lifting Cushion Foundation:

The color that I’m using is shade 12- Neutral Ivory which is a neutral undertone. They should have around 12 to 15 shades and I think SG carries most of the shades. Please note that these shades are fairer than its fluid foundation so please go to the La Mer counters to try it on your face. It starts from 0 which is the fairest to 4 or 5 which is the darkest and then the second digit represents the undertone, 1 for cool, 2 for neutral, 3 for warm. I picked 12 which is light neutral but not the lightest which they have in 02 as it’s too whitish for me. So please try it before getting one if you are interested. I read somewhere that this was inspired by Korean beauty trend where cushion foundations started. Thus I think that’s why the shades leans toward the fairer end. If not mistaken, these are only available in Asia.

First the packaging, housed in a very lovely in a rose gold tone (classy)! But mind you it’s a fingerprint magnet 🤣 I wipe it after each use cos I have OCD (joke – but I do like to keep my products clean and neat). It’s like most cushion foundations that comes with a sponge applicator and a lid to close the cushion inside the box with a click. When applied using the given sponge, you do not need to press hard into the cushion as it picks up quite a bit of product easily. Using patting motions on your face, this goes on very easily. The coverage I say is medium-high. It was able to mask my pimple that I had previously with just one pat and for light dark circles, you do not need a concealer! With a full face using this, I think I look “masked-like” which I’m not a big fan of. So the SA advised me to try it with the foundation brush and I did just that. I love the finish with the brush as I look more natural. My skin is usually pretty alright so I prefer light to medium coverage max. I also tried it using my BB (beauty blender) and the results was also lovely. I prefer not to use it with the sponge applicator provided. But if you do like better coverage, you will like the applicator. This finish I get with the brush is sheer glowy and with the bb it’s more velvety. This is more long wearing than the fluid foundation and it seems to have some oil control properties. It held up nicely on my face for for at least 5 hours before my T zone starts to shine a little and I did not use any primer. Overall it’s a lovely foundation which I think it’s good for normal to combination to maybe even oily skin types. It’s also very convenient to bring out for touch ups if needed and you do not need to set this with powder and it does not oxidize. Quite a winner!

Next is the Pressed Powder:

This comes in 4 shades and I got mine in Translucent. I usually prefer my powders colorless as I use these mostly for touch ups or setting or finishing so I rather it not make any further adjustments to my foundation/concealer/blush etc. The three other colors are light, medium & medium-deep. You can go to the counters to get some comparison. This finishes off as a matte and I like it over my T zone and not full face (I like to keep other parts of my face dewy). It works very well in keeping my T zone shine under control & at most I would use this one more time if I’m out throughout the day. The compact is quite flat and I think the cover is a magnetic closure. A good powder to have for oilier skin types but I won’t use it full face.

Next is the Concealer:

This is also housed in a lovely rose gold metal case which is very classy! I got mine in medium and it works for my under-eyes with slight dark circles. It comes in 4 shades and medium seems to have a slight peachy undertone that works better for dark circles. The lightest shade is probably better for highlighting use or if you are really super fair, otherwise I would not recommend as you would look like you have some white rings under your eyes instead 🤓 This concealer is creamy and very easy to blend. I do like it but the lasting power is averagely around 4-5 hours. If I set it lightly with powder, some fine lines will start to show up around the same time. This works if you are gonna bring this out to touch up (at least twice for one full day) but not for a lazy person like me who does very little touch ups when I’m out. I think there are better ones out there…😬

Next is the Bronzer:

This one is a winner! It’s so pretty when you swirl it all together. I use it as a blusher instead of bronzer as you can see it’s hard to reach just the Browns in the pan. Love it! 😍

Next we have the Loose Powder:

It’s housed in a very heavy glass jar which makes this look very elegant and nice on your dresser. It’s very finely milled and so hard to swatch. It has some fine specks of glitters in it but it does not show up on your face like a disco ball 🤣 I use this as a finishing powder and not setting powder as it does not finish up matte nor does it helps to control shine. It’s pretty colorless on the face. Nice to have 😆

Last but not least is the Powder Brush:

This is also made from synthetic hair but it feels so fluffy & luxurious! It’s a big baby that does not prick your face! It’s so super soft you gotta feel it for yourself! I’m amazed by the quality. It picks up powders perfectly well and feels so good on the face. Please go grab one like now! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️You won’t regret it.

I hope I did not bore you with these many products but I wanted to put these all together into one category.

Stay tune for my next posts on La Mer Skincare – sneak preview:
