La Prairie Cosmetics Reviews – Skin Caviar Essence-In-Foundation SPF 25 PA+++ Cushion Compact. Skin Caviar Concealer and Foundation SPF 15, Cellular Treatment Foundation Powder Finish, Cellular Treatment Loose Powder, Light Fantastic Cellular Concealing Brightening Eye Treatment Highlighter.

Featured

Hello dearies!!!!!! I’m back to tell you all about my La Prairie cosmetics stash. I will kick off with their newest foundation:

The Skin Caviar Essence-In-Foundation SPF 25 PA+++ Cushion Compact (SGD365, comes with one refill).

They have about 8 colors at the counters and mine is in NW10 Tender Ivory, fair yellow undertone:

This is the lightest shade and it works fine for me although it looks dark in the compact. It smells exactly like their Essence-In-Lotion. It’s a little on the watery side and feels fresh on the skin when applied. It’s somehow tacky after it dries down and I do need to set it with powder. The coverage is medium to medium-high. It conceals pores and redness 95% with just the first layer. I would not advise you to build the coverage because it would feel and look thick if you past the second layer. This is long wearing, say 6-7 hours before my T zone starts to look shiny. Quite comfortable on the skin throughout the day. I would say, if you have the money and want to try this, go get it! Oh one big con about this – the compact is super huge as compared to any other cushions compact in the market. Not very convenient to bring out…. 😞

Next up is the Skin Caviar Concealer & Foundation SPF 15 (SGD370):

This comes in about 20 shades but I think Singapore does not carry all shades. I got mine in Soft Ivory which is their lightest neutral because I find the others too pinkish or yellowish. This is a super duper HG Foundation. I love this amongst all my foundations. This is heaven sent! It’s so creamy and so easy to blend. Does not feel heavy at all and I swear that after you remove this at the end of the day, you can see that your skin has improved! From most feedback that I’ve seen, this Foundation offers a full coverage. However, in my opinion, I can use a tiny amount and get sheer coverage with a Beautyblender or Brush. If I need more coverage, this is damn easy to build. Even at full coverage, skin still looks like skin! Holy moly! Please go and try it. I am sure you will love this! It lasts throughout the day without any touch ups and no flaking, creasing etc. I’ve used this in hot & cold, humid & dry climate. It works under any conditions. Just set with powder if you are in hot humid weather. This is definitely a winner & the plus point is that it comes with a matching concealer at the top. I really dig this! Let me know once you’ve tried it if you do love it as much as I do! This one got me going back to La Prairie to try their other products 😱😱

Next up are 3 more items: Top – the Light Fantastic Cellular Concealer Brightening Eye Treatment Shade 20 (SGD130, comes with a refill); Bottom Left – the Cellular Treatment Loose Powder in Translucent 0 (SGD165); Bottom Right – Cellular Treatment Foundation Powder Finish in Ivoire (SGD150):

Top to Bottom – Shade 20 Concealer, Ivoire Compact Powder, Translucent 0 Loose Powder.

The Concealing Brightening Pen I choose is shade 20 which has a slight peach tone in it as I had intended to use this to conceal some light dark circles under my eyes. This formula is very creamy and easy to blend with fingers. I use this on most days with all other foundations and it works like a dream for under eye. No settling into fine lines and it conceals pretty well. No obvious white cast. No need to set with powder either. I would recommend this for light dark circles.

As for the Compact Powder, the powder is very finely milled. Goes on the skin smooth and gives decent powder compact kind of coverage. You can use it both wet and dry. So far as you can see, mine is still so new because I hardly reach for it. I bring this out for touch ups because the packaging is just so pretty and classy!!! (Mostly it’s just for the mirror.) 🤣🤣

Last is the Loose Powder. This is a so so for me. It sets make up decently but there’s no oil control properties and does feel a little cakey and gives me a grayish cast overall. Not sure if it’s the ‘color’ or formula. It’s suppose to be translucent but not in my case. I would prefer other powders. For this one, I have to mist it to rid the powdery look (no I did not use too much as I will buff setting powders into my skin) ☺️

I hope you like my reviews so far.

Stay tune for more La Prairie!

Cheers

La Mer Cosmetics, Swatches and Reviews (Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation; Luminous Lifting Cushion Foundation; Loose Powder; Sheer Pressed Powder; Foundation Brush; Powder Brush; Concealer; Cheek Tint; Bronzer)

Hello dearies!!!!

It’s La Mer time!!!!!!! This is one of my HG brand from the skincare category. I have used their products for over 10 years now and I’ll be sharing my thoughts on their cosmetics line.

Here we have the following products:

1. Foundation Brush (SGD 120)

2. Soft Fluid Foundation – 03 Creme (SGD 190) 21 Shades but I think SG does not carry all shades.

3. Cheek Tint in Coral and Pink Sands (SGD 105 each)

4. Luminous Lifting Cushion Foundation – 12 Neutral Ivory (SGD 160) 12 or 15 Shades (I’m not very sure 😬)

5. Sheer Pressed Powder – Translucent (SGD140) 4 Shades

6. Concealer – Medium (SGD 120) 4 Shades

7. Bronzer (SGD 135)

8. Powder Brush (SGD 150)

9. Loose Powder (SGD 170) – only one shade

First we look at the Foundation Brush:

This is made of synthetic hair and La Mer advocates this with the soft fluid foundation as they were launched at the same time. I used it with this foundation and a few other liquid foundations that I own and it gives a natural coverage. What I like is that it is easy to reach areas around the nose and inner corners of the eyes as it’s tapered at the tip but roundish and not overly pointy. It does not prick the skin like some other synthetic hair brush does. However, you do need to use it with a light hand because if you press too hard, it does makes your foundation slightly streaky. I prefer to use this with their cushion foundation as it has a higher coverage and not the liquid one as it has a thinner consistency. The brush somehow seems to thin out the coverage till a very sheer finishing. It’s not quite friendly to build coverage with this brush either. I’ll recommend some other foundation brush in the near future when I share my collection of brushes. 😜

Next we have the Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation:

I believe you can tell how “fluid” this is with just half a pump on my wrist. Creme (03) is the lightest shade for warm undertone. They have 21 Shades in total from the official site (https://m.cremedelamer.com/product/5817/40984/skincolor/the-soft-fluid-long-wear-foundation-broad-spectrum-spf-20/face-foundation-makeup#/shade/03_Creme) I’m sharing the US site as the SG site does not have enough info. Please do go to the La Mer counters to have your shade match as they might not have all 21 shades. This foundation feels very comfortable on the face and provides a very sheer natural coverage. There is a fragrance to it upon application but that would fade off after a couple of hours of wearing. As for it’s claim on being long wear, this does not work well on me as I have combination oily T zone and SG weather is humid most of the time. This wears off quite quickly around the T zone area say after about 3 hours where it starts to slide off. I tried it with a few primers and it still starts to slide off around my T zone area within 4 hours max. I think it would work better on dry skin in my opinion and do note that this oxidizes just a slight tinge at the end of the day. 😶

Next we have the Cheek Tints in Coral & Pink Sands:

These were limited editions and they may have sold out by the time you read this so I will not say too much. These tints can be used on the lips as per advised by the SA (sales associate). It feels soft and taste minty when applied on the lips with super sheer color. When on the cheeks, it looks very natural but somehow feels tacky. Maybe you did not miss much even if you are not able to get these now. 😖

Next is the Luminous Lifting Cushion Foundation:

The color that I’m using is shade 12- Neutral Ivory which is a neutral undertone. They should have around 12 to 15 shades and I think SG carries most of the shades. Please note that these shades are fairer than its fluid foundation so please go to the La Mer counters to try it on your face. It starts from 0 which is the fairest to 4 or 5 which is the darkest and then the second digit represents the undertone, 1 for cool, 2 for neutral, 3 for warm. I picked 12 which is light neutral but not the lightest which they have in 02 as it’s too whitish for me. So please try it before getting one if you are interested. I read somewhere that this was inspired by Korean beauty trend where cushion foundations started. Thus I think that’s why the shades leans toward the fairer end. If not mistaken, these are only available in Asia.

First the packaging, housed in a very lovely in a rose gold tone (classy)! But mind you it’s a fingerprint magnet 🤣 I wipe it after each use cos I have OCD (joke – but I do like to keep my products clean and neat). It’s like most cushion foundations that comes with a sponge applicator and a lid to close the cushion inside the box with a click. When applied using the given sponge, you do not need to press hard into the cushion as it picks up quite a bit of product easily. Using patting motions on your face, this goes on very easily. The coverage I say is medium-high. It was able to mask my pimple that I had previously with just one pat and for light dark circles, you do not need a concealer! With a full face using this, I think I look “masked-like” which I’m not a big fan of. So the SA advised me to try it with the foundation brush and I did just that. I love the finish with the brush as I look more natural. My skin is usually pretty alright so I prefer light to medium coverage max. I also tried it using my BB (beauty blender) and the results was also lovely. I prefer not to use it with the sponge applicator provided. But if you do like better coverage, you will like the applicator. This finish I get with the brush is sheer glowy and with the bb it’s more velvety. This is more long wearing than the fluid foundation and it seems to have some oil control properties. It held up nicely on my face for for at least 5 hours before my T zone starts to shine a little and I did not use any primer. Overall it’s a lovely foundation which I think it’s good for normal to combination to maybe even oily skin types. It’s also very convenient to bring out for touch ups if needed and you do not need to set this with powder and it does not oxidize. Quite a winner!

Next is the Pressed Powder:

This comes in 4 shades and I got mine in Translucent. I usually prefer my powders colorless as I use these mostly for touch ups or setting or finishing so I rather it not make any further adjustments to my foundation/concealer/blush etc. The three other colors are light, medium & medium-deep. You can go to the counters to get some comparison. This finishes off as a matte and I like it over my T zone and not full face (I like to keep other parts of my face dewy). It works very well in keeping my T zone shine under control & at most I would use this one more time if I’m out throughout the day. The compact is quite flat and I think the cover is a magnetic closure. A good powder to have for oilier skin types but I won’t use it full face.

Next is the Concealer:

This is also housed in a lovely rose gold metal case which is very classy! I got mine in medium and it works for my under-eyes with slight dark circles. It comes in 4 shades and medium seems to have a slight peachy undertone that works better for dark circles. The lightest shade is probably better for highlighting use or if you are really super fair, otherwise I would not recommend as you would look like you have some white rings under your eyes instead 🤓 This concealer is creamy and very easy to blend. I do like it but the lasting power is averagely around 4-5 hours. If I set it lightly with powder, some fine lines will start to show up around the same time. This works if you are gonna bring this out to touch up (at least twice for one full day) but not for a lazy person like me who does very little touch ups when I’m out. I think there are better ones out there…😬

Next is the Bronzer:

This one is a winner! It’s so pretty when you swirl it all together. I use it as a blusher instead of bronzer as you can see it’s hard to reach just the Browns in the pan. Love it! 😍

Next we have the Loose Powder:

It’s housed in a very heavy glass jar which makes this look very elegant and nice on your dresser. It’s very finely milled and so hard to swatch. It has some fine specks of glitters in it but it does not show up on your face like a disco ball 🤣 I use this as a finishing powder and not setting powder as it does not finish up matte nor does it helps to control shine. It’s pretty colorless on the face. Nice to have 😆

Last but not least is the Powder Brush:

This is also made from synthetic hair but it feels so fluffy & luxurious! It’s a big baby that does not prick your face! It’s so super soft you gotta feel it for yourself! I’m amazed by the quality. It picks up powders perfectly well and feels so good on the face. Please go grab one like now! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️You won’t regret it.

I hope I did not bore you with these many products but I wanted to put these all together into one category.

Stay tune for my next posts on La Mer Skincare – sneak preview:

Chantecaille Cosmetics Swatches and Reviews (Just Skin Tinted Moisturizer; La Sirena Bronzer Highlighter Duo; Luminescent Eye Shades; Philanthropy Cheek Shade, Les Perles Metallic Eye Liner)

Hello dearies!!!

I’m sharing my latest tiny stash from Chantecaille!

I bought 6 items & they are:

1. Philanthropy Cheek Color – Butterfly (Bliss) SGD 68

2. Luminescent Eye Shade in the color Sole SGD 80

3. Luminescent Eye Shade in the color Mare SGD 80

4. La Sirena Bronzer – Highlighter Duo SGD 131

5. Just Skin Tinted Moisturizer in the shade Alabaster (Fair with balanced undertones) SGD 126

6. Les Perles Metallic Eye Liner in the color Bleu ( they have one more color in Vert) SGD 71

The two eye shadows, bronzer with highlighter duo & the eyeliner are suppose to be Limited Editions so I’m not too sure if these items will be made permanent or not as they were sold out like hot cakes once they hit the counter at Takashimaya Singapore. (Chantecaille is only available at Takashimaya Singapore).

The butterfly blusher should also be limited edition as it is part of the Philanthropy collection that has other themes and they are Turtle, Horse, Bee, Elephant & a Coral. Some of the proceeds goes to support the various organizations & I think this is just perfect! For more information, please go to their official site: https://chantecaille.com/collections/philanthropy-cheek-shades These Cheek shades comes with a shimmery overspray & it will be gone from your first dip into the pan & that’s what happened to mine as you can see it’s without the overspray in the picture above. 😖 I can tell you that all 6 of the blushers are darn pretty! 😍 I have one too many blushers so I had to stop myself from getting all 6! (When I bought mine, the Bee & the Coral was oos so I did not like the fact that I was not going to be able to purchase the full collection anyway) 😬

Let me show you some swatches before I go on:

(Top to Bottom – Just Skin Moisturizer in Alabaster; Eye Shadow Sole – a beautiful coppery brown; Eye Shadow Mare- a lovely greenish moss; Bronzer; Highlighter; Butterfly (Bliss) Blush – Soft pink)

The Eyeliner in Bleu. As I’ve mentioned earlier, the other shade is Vert which is a green. I don’t really like this because it felt too watery & not easy to use if you are not a makeup guru (in my opinion). The glitters will not show up much if it’s just a thin outline. Probably more suited for a night party look with thicker lined eyes.

The eyeshadows & bronzer highlighter duo I’m telling you to grab these if you can lay your hands on still! These are amazingly gorgeous! 😍 The texture is so so so smooth, creamy and easy to blend! It’s so pigmented! Love Love Love!

As for the butterfly blusher, it’s a pretty pink but not something uncommon. I would still buy it as I love butterflies! And also you will feel good for contributing to whichever organization (depends on which animal or Coral you choose) as part of our duty as humans. Do your part! Go get one!

The Just Skin Tined Moisturizer is another amazing product. I’m in love with the formula. It is very lightweight when on the skin & I don’t feel like I’m wearing any makeup. It’s like a light foundation with a SPF of 15. Good on days when you feel lazy as this looks so natural and it blends in a swift (and I’m only using finger not bb or brush) 🤓 Saves you some time! I don’t set it with powder as I like the natural glow it gives. My skin looks as though it has drank enough water & it feels velvety.

It covers my redness & uneven skin tone pretty easily. I like the packaging that it’s in a tube form, so easy to pack it into your handbag for a quick touch up on the go. I would say – go try it! 7 shades available! Fyi – mine in Alabaster is the lightest shade.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this!

Stay tune for more

Cheers

Westman Atelier Review

Hello everyone!

This is my very first review and I would like to begin with Westman Atelier’s Cosmetics.

  • Gucci Westman is a renown make up guru https://westman-atelier.com/password and she created her own line of clean, conscious makeup.
  • There are 6 products in her collection and they are (accurate at date of this posting):
    1. Vital Skin Foundation Stick (comes in 11 colors)
Baby Cheeks Blush Stick (comes in 4 colors)
Face Trace Contour Stick in only one color – Biscuit
Lit Up Highlight Stick in only one color – Lit
Super Loaded Tinted Highlight in only one color – Peau de Pêche
Beauty Butter Powder Bronzer in only one color – Coup de Soleil

They can be found at Barney’s https://www.barneys.com/designer/westman-atelier/beauty/N-11etc62Ztdt7px

I bought the foundation stick in Color Atelier 1, the blush in color Petal, the contour stick and also the highlight stick.

I did not purchase the powder highlight or bronzer as the colors looks dark for me.

They come in these beautiful light pink with black border boxes:

They come in a magnetic capped metal round tubes which are so amazingly pretty! They feel heavy too:

Let me swatch these for you under normal day light – (Bottom to top – Foundation in Atelier 1, Contour in Biscuit, Blush in Petal, Highlight in Lit):

    Room light:

    Blended out gently:

I’m a fair neutral skin tone (Asian) & I’ll usually get the fairest or second fairest color in foundations.

    My thoughts…

The foundation is of light coverage so as you can see here, the color looks dark (even though this is the lightest shade in the range) on me, but when blended out, it is acceptable. (Please give us more color variations!) It is suppose to be buildable but I feel that in Singapore’s hot humid weather, it’s best to wear less! It does feels very comfortable & looks like second skin. It wears well throughout the day (say 7-8 hours) and I do get oily on my T zone but this is very normal for me as I do have combination skin type. Blot & I’m freshen. No powder needed on top of this as it feels and looks semi matte which I like! I would think this would work better for normal to combination skin types and could be a little drying for dry skin types.

The contour is very easy to use & super easy to blend. This is great for beginners & also probably for fairer skin tones as this may not be deep enough for medium/deep skin tones.

The blush is pretty and looks very natural! I’ll be getting more colors for sure! Eyeing the Poppet & Minette colors now! Recommend!

The highlight is very subtle and great for a daily look and it seems that the color is a little more on the cooler side. It also seems to be tackier than the rest of the products….

These are great for travel as they are cream based held in magnetic cases. No worries about spillage, smashed powders etc……. Just stripe, blend and go!

I will continue to use these on days where I feel that my skin is behaving where only light coverage is needed to even my skin tone or when I want to look natural. I will repurchase! (Maybe not the highlight… 🤔)

According to the description on Barneys, these are formulated without parabens, PEG, talc, phthalates, synthetic fragrances. Sounds good!

However, do check the ingredients list before trying just in case you are sensitive to any of the contents.

    I welcome any comments/questions!

    Cheers
