May Lindstrom Skin

Featured

Hello everyone!!!

It’s been so long since I’ve written a new post. Sorry for the long wait! Quite recently, I’ve been diagnosed with some health issue so I’ve been taking a well rested break. Due to that, I’ve been “blessed” with some hormonal breakouts along the chin and jaw area. My existing skincare don’t seem to be as effective as before so I started looking frantically for solutions – be it a new diet, medicated creams or new skincare products etc. whatever helps. But nothing worked. 😖

Then it came to my mind – May Lindstrom Skin. Several years back, I remembered seeing her products online so I started looking her up again. After reading her philosophy and understanding how and why she started her line gave me the urge to quickly order her products. Read more about May here – https://www.maylindstrom.com/pages/meet-may

I am writing this post out of my own experience (all items were purchased by me, not sponsored nor affiliated). I find her products so effective that I felt the need to share so that more of you can be reached and see your skin change over time just like mine. I have more full sizes on their way to my home! Can’t wait! 😍

May’s entire collection is “soy, wheat, and gluten free. All products are vegan, with the exception of The Honey Mud, which contains raw wildflower honey from unsprayed local fields.” You may wish to read all about the ingredients and how they source it here – https://www.maylindstrom.com/pages/ingredients

May’s line consists of 7 products. Yes, only 7 products. And she is so thoughtful to come up with a sampler box named The Chocolate Box which consists of deluxe sized samples for anyone to try before committing to full sized products:

This cost $60 USD (for an average of a week’s supply) which is very affordable (in my opinion) & reasonable to give it a try. This can be purchased here – https://www.maylindstrom.com/products/the-chocolate-box

As a skincare junkie, I probably have over 100 products (not joking) and I will use no less than 10 products in my skincare routine each time. From cleansers to scrubs to masks to several face serums, eye serum, eye cream, oils, moisturizers etc. So I thought to myself, maybe I’ve been putting my skin on distressed mode by loading up on one too many products. This could be one of the reason why breakouts occurred besides other reasons.

After reading up on May’s philosophy to keep skincare ritual simple, natural and enjoyable, I started enthusiastically with The Problem Solver because this was introduced as the “miracle worker” that delivers extraordinary results from one use. This mask is said to heal inflammation and irritation, fades hyperpigmentation, stimulates collagen production, and treats and prevents breakouts. This was my top concern!

The Problem Solver ($100 USD for 250ml) comes in a powder form and you have to use a tablespoonful of it and mix with water slightly less than a tablespoon to create a foamy paste before application. Leave on for 45 minutes or until Mask is dry before rinsing. It comes off easily during shower. It smells like cinnamon pepper with vanilla which is comforting. You should also be experiencing a warm sensation which is normal. (For more details, please refer here – https://www.maylindstrom.com/products/the-problem-solver).

After the very first use, I was smitten with my own skin! I could not stop staring at my own reflection! My skin looks brighter, fairer & more even! My angry looking red zits seemed to have calmed and my pores shrunk! This is magic! 🧚🏻‍♀️ I’ve started using it twice a week and it helps me combat my fierce breakouts. I see improvements and will continue to use it forever!

Next up is her star product – The Blue Cocoon ($180 USD for 50ml):

This is the coolest blue facial oil I’ve ever seen and it smells divine! The color comes naturally from the blue tansy flower and no artificial color is added. This tripled as eye cream, lip balm & moisturizer. You can skip your serums as well because it contains all the goodness your skin needs.

This comes in a balm form and the amazing part is when it comes into contact with skin heat, it transforms into its liquid form. (May must be a magician to formulate this into a balm without water and wax 😎).

One tip is to use it on wet skin when you are still in the shower to help your skin absorb every bit of it so that it is most effective. This powerful anti-inflammatory is really soothing and helps to eliminate redness (almost 50% reduction upon application and gone when I wake up if I apply this at night) and the scent is very calming. Smells like a rich sweet citrus vanilla. You have to smell it for yourself to find out! 😜

I basically use this on its own, skipping my serums, eye cream, moisturizer & lip balm. I find it very convenient and saves me so much time nowadays. Just a small amount (rice to pea size, depending on your skin) is nourishing enough so this jar will last me a long time. Read all about it’s magic here – https://www.maylindstrom.com/products/the-blue-cocoon)

The other star product is The Honey Mud ($90 USD for 100ml):

This is an enzyme cleanser as well as a mask. Every morning I look forward to using it to cleanse my face and every evening I would use this as a mask. As a cleanser, it rinses off very gently and skin feels comfortable and not stripping at all. As a mask, this feels luxurious and pampering just like a sweet treat!!🍫🍨🍪🍯

It smells amazing and I really want to eat it! Imagine chocolate and vanilla mixed with honey! Yums! 😋😋😋 It leaves you with baby soft clean skin! I love it to the moon and back! For full details, click here – https://www.maylindstrom.com/products/the-honey-mud

After loving all her star products, I also decided to order the Youth Dew ($140 USD for 30ml) (waiting impatiently for my full size to arrive in 2 day’s time):

As a facial oil lover, I’ve tried so many oils and this one got me hooked! It absorbs fast and leaves no tackiness. You won’t feel like you have a layer of something sitting on top of your skin. Singapore’s weather is usually hot and humid so I really do not enjoy heavy products. THIS plumps up my skin and gives me a subtle glow. Sublime…

I also start to notice that I’m not so oily over my T-zone area where I usually get shiny after 2-3 hours after makeup application. My foundations (I have many many many) seems to perform better too! And I’m using lesser and lesser foundations nowadays. 😊 that’s my goal – to have perfect skin that I need no more makeup. 💃 For full details, please read here – https://www.maylindstrom.com/products/the-youth-dew

As a sucker for face mists, I’ve also ordered The Jasmine Garden ($70 USD for 100ml):

I decant into the sample size bottle so that I can toss it into my purse. It goes with me wherever I go. If you love the smell of Jasmine, trust me, this really smells like a whole garden of jasmines. I use this to refresh my skin at anytime I want to.

The full size sits in my bathroom as my last step after applying the Blue Cocoon and/or the Youth Dew. It’s suppose to seal in hydration and enhance nutrient absorption. I simple love it’s scent. 🧘🏻‍♀️ This keeps me sane throughout a stressful day. For more details, please read here – https://www.maylindstrom.com/products/jasmine-garden

I also want to mention that May has a wonderful team that anyone can reach out to if any questions, doubts, etc. (care@maylindstrom.com) I wrote in to ask about what other products I should be incorporating into my skin care ritual and Shannon (May’s team member), shared that I should give Clean Dirt a shot. Yes, CLEAN DIRT. Why Dirt? Because it does look like dirt but don’t be afraid of getting dirty. You will thank me later.

Clean Dirt ($70 for 200ml) is a gentle exfoliant that helps to ease congestion and brightens and tones, fades post acne marks and discoloration. This is exactly what I need!

This comes in powder form and you have to mix one teaspoon of it to slightly lesser than a teaspoon of water to create a mousse foam. Use it on damp skin as you would with any physical exfoliant.

After rinsing off the physical bits, you have to continue to massage your face for another minute. I actually do feel dead skin releasing off my fingertips!

Please remember not to skip the last massaging step because this is what you want – release dead skin. You will feel your skin is so much softer and clearer after that. I immediately ordered the full size only after one use! Please read all about it here – https://www.maylindstrom.com/products/the-clean-dirt

May’s latest addition to her product line is the Pendulum Potion ($80 USD for 100ml):

This is a cleansing oil and you can also use it as a hair and body oil. Isn’t that amazing? Imagine how many different products we have to slather on or the crazy packing for a getaway or business trip? This solves the headache.

This oil smells sweet, calming, tangy and orangey to me. It’s so soothing and the perfect way to wind down after a long day. I like to take this slow and enjoy the full ritual. I love this for my hair! 🛀🏼 PS, May dabs this on her wrist, using it as her perfume. For more details, click here – https://www.maylindstrom.com/products/the-pendulum-potion

To sum up my love for May Lindstrom Skin:

  • May herself & her wonderful team – each of my packages came with a lovely hand written note and they responded to my questions with a very personal touch showing they truly care. Thank you team! I feel the sincerity! 😘😘
  • May is thoughtful about sampling – she offers The Chocolate Box and also includes 2 deluxe size complimentary samples with an order. (https://www.maylindstrom.com/pages/samples-shipping-returns)
  • May’s line has 7 products and some are multi-tasking – keeping things simple.
  • May’s freshness promise – https://www.maylindstrom.com/pages/freshness-promise No hassle of having to check the bar codes on beauty websites to look up product manufacturing dates and shelf life dates etc. May’s products are hand-filled and each bottle has its own unique label. Her products come in Miron violet glass and chose not to use other cheaper alternatives. Stringent selection when it comes to their retailers – only those who adheres to their freshness promise rules are chosen.
  • Fun recipes – May’s products are so unique; the formulas in each item compliments each other and you can mix and match them according to what your skin needs. I would like you to watch her on YouTube to see how enjoyable this can be – https://youtu.be/dN_R_659xYo
  • Everyday, I look forward to my skincare ritual to enjoy my ME time & to ground myself at the end of the day. All her products smells divine and soothes my mind, body and soul. We all deserve something special don’t we?
  • INDULGE…

PAT McGRATH LABS – PMG X THE MET MOTHERSHIP V EYE PALETTE – Bronze Seduction and LUST: GLOSS (Blitz Gold, Gold Allure, Pale Fire Nectar, Aliengelic) Swatches

    Hello beauties!

I’m so excited to receive these today!!!

I bought the latest release Bronze Seduction Eye Palette from Pat McGrath online and I couldn’t wait for the lip gloss that was part of The MET collaboration so I ordered the four piece kit in ASTRAL color that contains both the Blitz Gold & Aliengelic (p.s. my nails happens to match!):

These came in that beautiful zip-lock bag that contains all the gold sequins! 😍 So happy to get these!

Let me show you how lovely these are:

Indoor Lighting: (Top to Bottom – Blitz Gold, Gold Allure, Pale Fire Nectar, Aliengelic):

    Outdoor Lighting:

Blitz Gold is a true translucent yellow gold gloss with gold glitters; Gold Allure is a translucent clear gloss with gold glitters; Pale Fire Nectar is a translucent pink gloss with gold and pink glitters; Aliengelic (don’t you just love that name) is a translucent clear gloss with silver and pink glitters.

Can you see how gorgeous these are? Imagine them on your lips either on their own or using these as toppers. These would suit any skin tone in my opinion. There are micro glitters in them but does not feel gritty when applied to lips. The colors are translucent so your lip color shows up alittle if you use them on it’s on and the lipstick color will also show through if you use these as toppers. All of these applies with a pearlescent sheen and it lasted me through a lunch and coffee while testing it today. I am so going to use them daily! Love love love 😍😍😍

Ok ok, let’s dive into the PMG X THE MET MOTHERSHIP V EYE PALETTE in Bronze Seduction:

What a beautiful design the outer packaging is! I’m keeping it! ❤️

Hope you can see the names of each pan. Their names comes in a separate piece of cardboard that is placed into the box and not into the actual palette. I placed the cupboard over the mirror in this photo.

The colors are described as per my personal best as per my unprofessional finger swatches:

Left to right, top row to bottom row in the palette:

Skinshow Divine Glow – Shimmer – Beige Cream Pale Gold

Gilty Pleasure – Shimmer Glitter Dark Brown

    Entrapment – Matte Warm Terracotta

Rose Gold 005 – Shimmer Glitter Rose Gold

VR Fire Opal – Glitter Duo Chrome Yellowish Greenish Gold

Xtreme Aubergine – Matte Deep Purple

    Disobedient – Matte Deep Brown

Bronze Blaze – Shimmer Glitter Bronze

Blitz Flame – Duo Chrome Red that contains some bronze and gold

Astral Luna Gold – Duo Chrome White Gold with some Greens and Yellows

    Indoor Lighting:

    Outdoor Lighting:

These were all swatched one to two times using my dry finger and I can tell that the colors are so pigmented and the formulas are kick-ass amazing!!!!! I’ve yet to try these on my eyes but I am sure I have many options to play with just by looking at this palette alone! Some of the shades here offers a day to day look and there are some fun shades and toppers here as well so you can create more dramatic eye looks when you feel like!

I’ve had many other eye shadows in my collection and I think Pat McGrath nailed it. Colors and formulas are great and the packaging is damn beautiful!

Please go get this quickly. It’s a Limited Edition collaboration celebrating The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Holiday 2018 Exhibition, Jewelry: The Body Transformed!

See you in my next post of Pat McGrath’s Mothership Totale Opulence Collection!

    Cheers

    XOXO 🥰🥰🥰

La Prairie Micellar Water; Foam Cleanser; Cellular Refining Lotion; Skin Caviar Luxe Cream Sheer; Essence-In-Lotion; Gold Radiance Serum; Cellular 3 Minute Peel; Cellular Hydralift Firming Mask; Swiss Cellular White Intensive Illuminating Mask; Skin Caviar Luxe Sleep Mask

    Hello dearies,

I’m back to give you my thoughts on some La Prairie skincare products.

I will start with the 4 deluxe sized samples of the Micellar Water, the Foam Cleanser, the Cellular Refining Lotion & the Luxe Cream Sheer formula:

These were very kindly thrown into my stash when I purchased several items at a go. I would say that using the Micellar Water with a cotton pad does remove makeup but not water-proof mascaras nor more pigmented lipsticks. It’s a water based formula and does not contain any oils so that explains why it’s not able to remove water-proof products. This smells lightly of the usual La Prairie scent and skin feels refreshed after wiping with this. I’m not sure how much this retails for and I will no purchase full size as I think there are definitely cheaper options out there, unless you are a huge fan of La Prairie and want the full size to look good on your vanity.

Next up is the Cleansing Foam and it works the same as any other regular foam cleansers. It lathers up pretty fast and rinses off very easily. However, I think this is more suited for oily skin types because my skin felt tight after washing it off. It’s a little too stripping for my liking.

Next is the Cellular Refining Lotion which acts as a toner after the cleansing routine. This does not contain alcohol and is gently on the skin. I quite like this one 😌

Next is the Skin Caviar Luxe Cream in Sheer texture (moisturizer). This melts into the skin and does not leave any sticky residue. I very much prefer this to the original formula. FYI, they have launched a premier version as I’m writing this and I was also given a small sample to try. The premier version is very very rich in texture and it gave me some bumps which I believe is too “oily” for me. To sum up, if you want lifting and firming results, for dry to normal skin types, do try the premier version whereas for oilier skin types, do try the sheer version. Also if you live in a dry cold climate, the premier may be more suitable vs hot humid climate and vice versa.

Next are the full sized items that I bought. First is the Skin Caviar Essence-In-Lotion (SGD$405)

This one smells like perfume! I was told they had to add lots of fragrance to cover the “fishy” caviar smell 😰 Don’t sound too good for Skin I would say but ok, it’s a La Prairie. I bought it as part of the whole skincare range I’m trying. This is like a sticky water that you pat onto your face. It feels kinda nice & skin is soft after that. You may try to ask for a sample before buying just in case your skin is sensitive to fragrance. I was lucky to get away with it and enjoy using it.

Next is the Gold Radiance Serum. This full sized item was part of my “free” gift choice for spending a huge fortune on their items. They decided to throw this in for me! (I think this retails for close to SGD1000). Ok this one contains REAL GOLD, yes, real gold as in the metal GOLD. Feels so luxurious and I love using this on my skin when it feels it needs to be nourished. It contains very fine gold particles which appears slightly “shimmery” when applied on the face, thus the name – Radiance . I might repurchase after I finish this 😍

Next is one big favorite of mine and it is the Cellular 3 Minute Peel (SGD380):

I was introduced to this during my complementary facial with them. After the facial, I could see my pores refined and skin texture looks much more even than before and I asked the lady which special product she used on me. She explained about this peel and I bought it immediately. Apparently this peel is gentle enough for a weekly home use. On my skin, I could feel some tingle upon application but I can get through the 3 minutes knowing how good my skin will be after that. If you are looking for a gentle yet effective peel, do give this a shot. But hey, stick to 3 minutes ok! Leaving it on for any longer and you may risk experiencing skin irritation. It’s gonna be my weekly exfoliating HG! 😍

Next are three types of masks that follows after my peel ( I alternate between these three): the Cellular Hydralift Firming Mask (SGD290):

I would use this in the shower after the peel and leave it on for 15 minutes for it to work. This tingled on my skin for quite awhile (like 5 minutes) and I’m not able to tell if my skin was firmer or not. I do not like the smell (smells like expired old face cream) and also don’t find it that effective in hydrating as the name suggest (i.e. hydra). Don’t really recommend this. 😖

Next is the Swiss Cellular White Intensive Illuminating Mask (SGD365 for 6 sheets):

As it’s named Illuminating, it really lived up to it. After removing this, my skin looks illuminated from within. I save these for once every fortnightly as it would be too costly for a weekly treat. The mask comes in two sheets in each package with one for the upper face and the other for the lower face. It’s a thick cotton sheet & big enough for my fat face! 🤣 And the serum/liquid inside the package is more than sufficient so I’ll usually massage the remaining of it onto my body as well. (It’s expensive, don’t waste it). If you have some spare cash, go get this – no regrets! 🙈

Last but not least is the Skin Caviar Luxe Sleep Mask (SGD565):

Sorry mine is still unwrapped because the SA gave me so many samples of this (like 8 x 10ml jars) that I’m still using. I love it so much that I bought the full size as a backup because I don’t want it to run out 🤣

I’ll leave the link here where you can see it’s actual packaging. Product sits in a jar and comes with an application brush: La Prairie Sleep Mask

I did not unwrap to get the brush out because I prefer lesser product wastage, I rather use my fingers for application. On the instructions, you can use this at night and leave it on till the next morning. For me, I slap this on after the peel and let it sink into my skin for 30 minutes or so before I use a toner to remove it and then continue with other skin care steps after that. This calms my skin from slight redness from the peel and I love the smooth texture of it. I brought this for my travel use because I can skip all other skin care (if I’m lazy) and just slap this on after toner and sleep through. Love love love! 😍

Hope you find my reviews on these La Prairie products helpful!

    I welcome any questions/comments.

Please do follow me and give me a like 👍🏼 if you enjoyed my reviews.

    Cheers

La Prairie Skin Care Reviews – Whitening Range – White Caviar Illuminating Clarifying Lotion; White Caviar Illuminating Pearl Infusion; White Caviar Illuminating Eye Serum; White Caviar Illuminating Eye Cream; White Caviar Crème Extraordinaire

    Hello dearies!!!!!

    Sorry for the long wait!

I’ve been using the La Prairie White Caviar range for over 3 months now and I think it’s a good time to review these.

Picture above (left to right) are as follows:

    1) White Caviar Illuminating Clarifying Lotion, SGD350

    2) White Caviar Illuminating Pearl Infusion, SGD 850

    3) White Caviar Illuminating Eye Serum, SGD470

    4) White Caviar Illuminating Eye Cream, SGD630

    5) White Caviar Crème Extraordinaire, SGD1090

The SA advised that I should use these as a set so that I can see results faster.

First let’s talk about the toner which is the clarifying lotion. You are suppose to pour its contents onto a cotton pad and sweep it all over your face. It does what a toner does and I don’t see any special further clarifying “magic”. It smells very fragrant and I’m sure there’s fragrance added. After wiping this on, I do not feel my skin getting any softer, brighter, clearer, etc. There are definitely other toners that does the same. I believe that proper cleansing works it’s effectiveness in cleaning skin and not relying on a toner to “clarify” your skin.

Next up up is the serum, it is suppose to help fade the appearance of dark spots, diminishes redness and shields skin from pollution. This does helps with reducing my slight redness around the nose area but I’m not sure about the shielding my skin from pollution…it also did not fade my one dark spot that I have on my cheek….😖 (PS can you see how fast this product is finishing 😱)

Next up is the eye serum and eye cream. They are suppose to work hand in hand with the application of the serum first then the eye cream on top. The serum is an anti-discoloration serum that helps maintain even skin tone and help increase firmness while the eye cream brightens and helps increase moisture around the eye area. My eye area does feel comfortable and soothe upon application. What I like about these two eye products is that they get absorbed well and does not leave any film or stickiness. My eye makeup goes on well after these as well. It’s very emollient to allow me to use my ring finger to massage my eye area in circles. I’m liking these so far for the texture and moisturizing properties. As for the brightening part, I don’t think any eye products are going to perform wonders. 😎

Last is their relatively new White Caviar Crème Extraordinaire. This helps skin reach new levels of luminosity and evenness — measurable in two weeks, visible in four, extraordinary in eight, thus the name. It is packaged in a very innovative flip top jar where you press on the button and the Crème will be dispensed:

I would give two thumbs up to the packaging because it keeps the product really fresh and hygienic and provides an adequate application amount per pump. The Crème smells heavenly and I do enjoy the process of getting the Crème out from its jar. Haha 😂

I look forward to using it everyday! My skin does look more luminous and my skin tone looks more even. However, if you want a product to fade dark spots etc, i don’t think there will be any because I believe laser is the only way to go because that goes beyond the skin level. As for daily brightening and skin tone evenness, this is a good moisturizer. It does not feel tacky but yet it provides just the right amount of moisturizing my skin needs. Loving it! And make up goes on well after the Crème.

    😍😍

Conclusion – go get the Crème!

    Cheers

La Prairie Cosmetics Reviews – Skin Caviar Essence-In-Foundation SPF 25 PA+++ Cushion Compact. Skin Caviar Concealer and Foundation SPF 15, Cellular Treatment Foundation Powder Finish, Cellular Treatment Loose Powder, Light Fantastic Cellular Concealing Brightening Eye Treatment Highlighter.

    Featured

Hello dearies!!!!!! I’m back to tell you all about my La Prairie cosmetics stash. I will kick off with their newest foundation:

The Skin Caviar Essence-In-Foundation SPF 25 PA+++ Cushion Compact (SGD365, comes with one refill).

They have about 8 colors at the counters and mine is in NW10 Tender Ivory, fair yellow undertone:

This is the lightest shade and it works fine for me although it looks dark in the compact. It smells exactly like their Essence-In-Lotion. It’s a little on the watery side and feels fresh on the skin when applied. It’s somehow tacky after it dries down and I do need to set it with powder. The coverage is medium to medium-high. It conceals pores and redness 95% with just the first layer. I would not advise you to build the coverage because it would feel and look thick if you past the second layer. This is long wearing, say 6-7 hours before my T zone starts to look shiny. Quite comfortable on the skin throughout the day. I would say, if you have the money and want to try this, go get it! Oh one big con about this – the compact is super huge as compared to any other cushions compact in the market. Not very convenient to bring out…. 😞

Next up is the Skin Caviar Concealer & Foundation SPF 15 (SGD370):

This comes in about 20 shades but I think Singapore does not carry all shades. I got mine in Soft Ivory which is their lightest neutral because I find the others too pinkish or yellowish. This is a super duper HG Foundation. I love this amongst all my foundations. This is heaven sent! It’s so creamy and so easy to blend. Does not feel heavy at all and I swear that after you remove this at the end of the day, you can see that your skin has improved! From most feedback that I’ve seen, this Foundation offers a full coverage. However, in my opinion, I can use a tiny amount and get sheer coverage with a Beautyblender or Brush. If I need more coverage, this is damn easy to build. Even at full coverage, skin still looks like skin! Holy moly! Please go and try it. I am sure you will love this! It lasts throughout the day without any touch ups and no flaking, creasing etc. I’ve used this in hot & cold, humid & dry climate. It works under any conditions. Just set with powder if you are in hot humid weather. This is definitely a winner & the plus point is that it comes with a matching concealer at the top. I really dig this! Let me know once you’ve tried it if you do love it as much as I do! This one got me going back to La Prairie to try their other products 😱😱

Next up are 3 more items: Top – the Light Fantastic Cellular Concealer Brightening Eye Treatment Shade 20 (SGD130, comes with a refill); Bottom Left – the Cellular Treatment Loose Powder in Translucent 0 (SGD165); Bottom Right – Cellular Treatment Foundation Powder Finish in Ivoire (SGD150):

Top to Bottom – Shade 20 Concealer, Ivoire Compact Powder, Translucent 0 Loose Powder.

The Concealing Brightening Pen I choose is shade 20 which has a slight peach tone in it as I had intended to use this to conceal some light dark circles under my eyes. This formula is very creamy and easy to blend with fingers. I use this on most days with all other foundations and it works like a dream for under eye. No settling into fine lines and it conceals pretty well. No obvious white cast. No need to set with powder either. I would recommend this for light dark circles.

As for the Compact Powder, the powder is very finely milled. Goes on the skin smooth and gives decent powder compact kind of coverage. You can use it both wet and dry. So far as you can see, mine is still so new because I hardly reach for it. I bring this out for touch ups because the packaging is just so pretty and classy!!! (Mostly it’s just for the mirror.) 🤣🤣

Last is the Loose Powder. This is a so so for me. It sets make up decently but there’s no oil control properties and does feel a little cakey and gives me a grayish cast overall. Not sure if it’s the ‘color’ or formula. It’s suppose to be translucent but not in my case. I would prefer other powders. For this one, I have to mist it to rid the powdery look (no I did not use too much as I will buff setting powders into my skin) ☺️

I hope you like my reviews so far.

Stay tune for more La Prairie!

    Cheers

    Xoxo

Chanel – Le Mat De Chanel Fall-Winter 2018 Collection

    Hello dearies!!!!!

*Courtesy of Nisah (my fav 😍 SA from Chanel Boutique, Vivocity).

Chanel launched their Fall-Winter 2018 Collection! These are prettily packaged in matte finishes.

In the collection, they have 6 matte lip crayons, 4 matte lip inks, one blush, 2 matte eye shadow quads, 3 matte eye shadows/liners/pencils and 2 matte nail polishes. Please visit the official Chanel Site for more details: https://mobile.chanel.com/en_SG/fragrance-beauty/makeup/c/new-collection.html

    I bought the following:

    1. Les 4 Ombres Clair Obscur number 308 (SGD93)

I hope you can tell from the following picture that the packaging is matte as compared to their usual glossy finish:

These eye shadows are very very creamy. Very easy to glide on and the color stays true. It’s also pigmented enough to build the depth that you like. This quad has more neutrals and browns that I like for an everyday look. If this is your thing, go get one.

The other matte quad in this collection is Quiet Revolution (312) and it has a beighy brown, a green, a blue and a grey color combination which I feel it’s more for a smokey eye look for a night out. Go explore it at their boutiques.

    2. Stylo Ombre Contour in number 06 Nude Èclat (SGD61):

This is not a matte but from their metallic collection because the matte ones are in darker colors which I hardly use – a deep brown, a deep green & a deep bluish black. This comes in 3 mattes and 4 metallic shades. You can use it three ways – a kohl, liner or eyeshadow. The concept is very cool and that’s why I bought one to try. It is very easy to glide on and it stays on very well. Good for lazier days ☺️

    3. Le Rouge Crayon De Couleur Mat in number 257 Discretion (SGD 50):

This has a good stay on power on the lips and wears well throughout the day. They have 5 other matte shades and they are all very pretty! Please go find a shade that you like and grab one!

    4. Rouge Ink Allure number 168 Serenity (SGD 50):

This is packaged in a matte finished bottle and also the top is a black double c instead of their usual gold for their Ink series:

I love nudes and this one made it to my list as well. It goes on creamy and then dries down comfortably. However the longevity of this is not as good as the matte crayon. They will stain your cup/glass after a sip. But they come in more shades than the crayons which I’m sure you will find a color one (or more) to your liking 😊

I urge you to fly down to your nearest Chanel Beauty boutiques NOW and go play with the collection before they sell out! (The Blush is already out of stock). 😩Please Hurry! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️

La Mer Review – Lip Balm, The Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA+++ UV Protecting Fluid, The Reparative Skin Tint, The Hand Treatment, The Soleil de La Mer The Glowing Body Oil and The Body Crème

    Hello dearies!

This is my final post of La Mersssssssss!!!

These remaining products are worthy of mentioning because I love these so much and I’ve repurchase them over and over again from the beginning of my journey with La Mer.

Let’s begin with the Sun products that I love:

(Left) is the Reparative Skintint SPF 30 (SGD180 for 40ml) in the color 01- very fair. It comes in 4 or 5 shades. I use this on days where I want sun protection yet natural coverage. Sometimes I’ll top it off with loose powder and then run out the door.

    This is how it looks:

Beautiful glowy finish. 😍 What I love most about the Skintint is that after washing it off, my skin feels extremely soft & smooth. I’ve never had a “foundation” or tinted moisturizer that makes my skin feel this nice after removal. I’ve heard rumors that this might be discontinued! So please run to the counters to get your shade match and grab one as soon as you can. La Mer, please don’t discontinue this one, I’ll be very sad! 😪

Next on the right is the The Broad Spectrum SPF 50 UV Protecting Fluid PA+++ (SGD190 for 50ml). This is the best sunblock I’ve ever used! It’s in liquid form but yet not super runny and not thick like some that you have to blend out. There’s a slight greenish color in the formula and somehow that helps to reduce the appearance of redness on my skin and made it look even. It’s not oily and has not given me any breakouts (using it for over 10+ years now). It’s so easy to spread and does not leave a white cast. Highly recommend giving this a try if you are looking for a sunblock that performs!

My next favorite is the Lip Balm (SGD120 for 9g).

I’m a Lip Balm junkie and this topped the list for sure. It’s so soft and melts into your lips immediately upon application. Just so good! Its not tacky at all and your lips stays comfortable. It has a minty scent and your lips can feel the slight mint upon application which goes away in abit. I love love love this! Nothing in the market can beat it 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 The usual one is this:

And they had a limited edition one with a light reddish tint:

I grabbed 3 pots of these just to keep as spares. 😬😬😬

Next favorites are the Hand Treatment (SGD185 for 100ml) and the Body Crème (SGD530 for 300ml. Their prices kept increasing 😑:

    These are phenomenal!

I stock up on the hand treatment as I put one in my handbag when I’m out and leave one near my bed. It keeps my hands soft, hydrated and smooth. I’ve tried many other hand creams too but this is the winner 🏆🏆🏆

As for the body crème, I’ve seen others commented that they want to put this on their face and that’s how good it is. I don’t use this everyday because one application keeps my skin moisturized for a couple of days in humid conditions. This is a life savior when I travel to dry climates. You have to try it! 😜

Last on my list is the Glowing Body Oil (SGD155 for 95ml):

This is housed in a glass bottle and the shimmers are just so pretty! 😍 I think this is also a limited edition piece so grab it if you find one! Although this is a body oil, it does not feel oily or tacky at all. It absorbs well and leaves behind the shimmery sheen. If shimmers are your thing then you gotta have it! I’m saving it only for special occasions 😊

I hope you like my sharing on all my La Mer products. Next, I plan to share my thoughts on cosmetics and skincare from La Prairie and Chanel which I will write-up as soon as I can!

    Stay tune!

    Cheers

La Mer (Pre-serums) Reviews – Treatment Lotion; Genaissance The Infused Lotion and The Brilliance White Infusion

    Hello dearies!!!!

Pre-serums aka watery lotions aka essences are relatively popular and introduced into the skin care routine as a step after the toner and before serum to help whatever applied on top of it to be absorbed better.

I am currently using the Treatment Lotion (SGD 220), The Brilliance White Infusion (SGD 220) and Genaissance The Infused Lotion (SGD 400):

The Treatment Lotion is the most watery of the lot. It has a slight tackiness to it when you pat it onto your face. However this gets absorbed quite fast and after it dries down, it’s not tacky. During my first few experience when I applied this, my skin felt a little tingle and some redness surfaced after that. I went back to the SA and she told me that it was due to the fact that my skin was dehydrated, thus it is normal to have this reaction. She encouraged me to keep using for a week to see if that goes away. I was brave enough to continue using and slowly it went away. So I do think that my skin was really dehydrated. As I have many other lotions, I do switch my products around. From time to time when I switched back to this lotion, I do experience the tingle sensation but it goes away after a few uses. Not sure if it’s a good thing though or is it just my skin that needed time to re-adjust 🤔 still wondering… If you do plan to pick this up, I suggest getting some samples from the counter and try it a few times before buying.

The Brilliance White Infusion is part of the whitening range and I use this about twice a week with the mask. In my earlier post, I talked about the toner in the same series so I will use them both one after the other. This infusion is also quite watery but this one smells like their whitening series and feels cool on the skin. A good alternative to the Treatment Lotion.

The Genaissance Infused Lotion is the most expensive in the lot as it’s La Mer’s most expensive range. I like this milky lotion when my skin is dry. It’s ultra comfortable, absorbs fast and I swear your skin feels so soft just after the lotion is pat on! It’s so velvety smooth! Brilliant! I love this the most and it smells so lux as though you are getting a spa! Another winner here 🏆 love love love 😍😍😍

I am not able to determine if these pre-serums were effective to allow better absorption of other products applied on top of it but I really do enjoy the Genaissance. You can probably skip the serum after this if you have oilier skin type because I feel that it’s quite nourishing in an instant. 😊

La Mer Toners Reviews: The Tonic; The Oil Absorbing Tonic; The Brilliance White Lotion; The Mist

    Hello dearies!!!

    It’s toner time!

I’m currently using the Tonic (SGD 180), the Oil Absorbing Tonic (SGD 180) as well as the Brilliance White Lotion (SGD 200):

The Tonic (left) is my favorite toner as it is alcohol free. It’s very gentle and I do not really smell any fragrance. It’s very soothing and comforting. I pour it onto a cotton pad and gently wipe it across my face. It does not irritate my sensitive skin at all. I use this day and night after cleansing. Good job La Mer! 👏👏👏

The Oil Absorbing Tonic (center) contains alcohol and is meant for oilier skin types. I use this mainly on my T zone and also at times when I do my own home mini extraction (aka pooping zits), I will soak up a cotton pad with this and press it against the zit. Alcohol has astringent properties so this helps to close up the opened pore. When I dab this on my newly formed zit, it helps to shrink it and bring it down within a couple of days. I won’t use it full face as it’s quite stripping so word of caution for all skin types except oily. Good for oily skin 👍🏻

The Brilliance White Lotion is part of the Brilliance whitening range. I bought the full range so I only use this once or twice a week when I put on their whitening mask which I will talk about in another later post. This lotion smells pretty nice and feels a little moisturizing. But I can’t be sure on the whitening part because I use the full range and not just by itself. Guess The Tonic can replace this instead 🙃

Next is The Mist (SGD 145):

I’ve replenished this countless times!!! The SA told me a long long time ago that I can use this as a toner but I prefer to use this to prime & prep my face before and then set my makeup. I carry this along wherever I go to refresh my skin. The mist is very fine and the smell of roses is simply divine! I love this! It’s the best mist out there 😍😍 Go to the counter and spray some 😝

Stay calm and smell the roses 🌷🌹🌷

La Mer Cleansers Reviews – Micellar Water; Cleansing Oil; Cleansing Gel; Cleansing Lotion; Cleansing Foam

    Hello dearies!

I’m currently using the Cleansing Oil & Cleansing Gel:

    My thoughts….

The Micellar Water on the left were deluxe samples given by the SA. It’s slightly bluish in color and does not have a strong fragrance to it. It works like your other Micellar water and does a nice job of removing light makeup. If you are using mascara and lippies, it’s advisable to use a separate eye/lip makeup remover for a more through job. This does not sting nor dries the skin. There are other Micellar water out there that does the same job. I do like it but I rather use the Cleansing Oil/Lotion for a quicker remover. This is my individual preference.

As for the Cleansing Oil, can you see that it has a beautiful glittery look in the bottle in the middle? So unicorn! 🦄 It’s just so beautiful to have at your sink. I use about 4 pumps to remove a full face makeup (but light). You are suppose to massage this onto dry skin then use a little water to emulsify. It then turns into a milky liquid then you rinse off. What I do not like about this is that it stings the eyes and I can feel as though there is a residual film of oil. I double cleanse with the Cleansing Gel each time. Probably more suited for drier skin days. Oh and the smell is pretty awful (smells like plastic). I probably will not repurchase again 😞

I do not have the Cleansing Lotion pic because I’ve used up mine and decided not to repurchase. It works pretty much the same as the Cleansing oil where you smear the lotion onto your face and give it a good massage then you wipe it off with some cotton pads. This formula works great in dry cold climate as I brought this to my holidays to drier climates and it’s great especially in the morning when you feel that your skin is so dry. It’s a no-rinse required formula. This is quite moisturizing and not stripping. But I think it does not remove makeup completely enough. Better on morning dry taut skin.

I have also tried their Cleansing Foam (also no pic). It’s a green paste when squeezed from the tube and it foams up very easily. I do like this on warmer & oilier days but don’t really work on other days because my skin will feel tight after washing. But my mum loves it and I’ve always replenished this for her.

As for the Cleansing Gel, this is my winner and favorite of the lot. It works for me day and night, oily, dry, sensitive or combo. I use this religiously with my Foreo and I love it lots! It removes light makeup so it’s perfect for me 😍 it smells pleasant and foams up easily. I use only 1 to 2 pumps max and one bottle lasts me about 3-4 months. I’ve tried other cleanser from some other luxury brand but my skin did not like them as much as the Cleansing Gel. I will name this my HG cleanser🏆

All cleaners are SGD 190 each 😑 so please try to ask for samples at the counters before you decide which is right for you if you ever decide to get their cleansers.

    Cheers
